Yes you to can hack and edit Super Mario World SNES. All you will need is: Lunar Magic! A Snes emulator which i will not provide, Just google "ZSNESW" Or "ZSNES9X" preferably ZSNESW. And a clean, unedited SMW Rom.
I am very experienced with this kind of hacking and we'll help anyone in need of assistance with it that's interested.
This type of hacking is the much easier than any Pokemon rom hacking, in fact its the easiest of the easiest type of hacking.

i would love to try that. the regular game is hard enough for me though lol, idk if i could handle playing a hacked version.

You don't have to make the hack kaizo-like, you can just as easily make it easier than the original.

You don't have to make the hack kaizo-like, you can just as easily make it easier than the original.

You can.
The guy did it all with a hex editor. Its incredibly hard to do, and I don't recommend even trying at it, real extensive coding and such.
There is also one for Super Mario Kart, this one is probably a lot easier, but I haven't ever tried it.
